my lovely friend karen has graciously offered me this spot to explore my love of home and garden design. the ins and outs is a place to take a quick glimpse at design elements expressed both in-wardly and out-wardly. in this first post, i love how the simple introduction of a single color can be fresh or bold, in either instance, red elevates.

many of us living near san francisco know to expect the natural air conditioning of fog to roll in through the summer months. where i live in marin (just north of san francisco), summer months bring warmer days and comfortable evenings with chirping crickets among other warm and bright memories.
